Victim in Sunday shooting in Carbondale pronounced deceased, suspect could face additional charges

Carbondale police say the victim of a weekend shooting died.

27-year-old Broderick Miller of Desoto, Illinois, was pronounced deceased Monday evening.

Miller was shot during an argument that took place Sunday evening inside a parked car in the 2400 block of East Main Street in Carbondale.

21-year-old Quentin Bailey of Carbondale was identified as a suspect and arrested.

He is facing charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Carbondale Police say they are working with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office with the investigation.

The results of the investigation will be presented to the Jackson County State’s Attorney and could result in additional charges for Bailey.
