Marshall County voters among few with local race on ballot

Marshall County voters are among the few who will have local candidates on their ballots on Election Day.

The special election primary is to help fill the seat of judge executive. Mike Miller held the position for 40 years before he died in December.

Rory Brewer, Melonie Chambers, Troy English, Chris Freeland, Charlie Hatchett, and Jeanne Lovett are the six democratic candidates. The winner will face Republican Kevin Neal.

Some told Local 6 it’s an uncomfortable election because the familiar Mike Miller name won’t be on the ballot, but others said it’s a chance for change.

Some of the issues voters are looking for leadership on are taxes, jobs, and road conditions.
