Traffic halt on US 68 near Lake Barkley Bridge for construction blast

Traffic will be briefly halted on US 68/KY 80 in the New Lake Barkley Bridge construction zone this afternoon.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says traffic will be stopped for about 10 to 15 minutes in the work zone at the east end of the existing Lake Barkley Bridge so that explosives can be used to loosen rocks in the excavation area.

The blasting is expected to take place between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
