Two injured in overnight shooting in Charleston, Missouri

Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Charleston, Missouri.

The Charleston Department of Public Safety says it was called to the area near Vine and Elm Streets around 7:15 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

At the intersection, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.

While investigating, officers learned that another person was shot in the 900 block of Grand Avenue. That person was taken to the hospital by car before officers could respond.

The two victims are 24-year-old Daymon Caldwell and 23-year-old Anthony Horton.
