Help Wanted: Summer job fair and cement plant hiring

In this week’s Help Wanted the Kentucky Career Center in Paducah wants you to get hired. They’re holding a job fair, and they let us know about several openings in the area.

The job fair for summer hiring is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 27 at the Kentucky Career Center at 416 S. 6th St. These could be full- or part-time jobs, depending on what each employer is looking for. You need to come ready to interview with a variety of employers, including fast food, retail sales, gardening, and general labor. You must be registered on Focus Career to apply. Click here to register.

There are multiple openings with Lafarge at their Joppa, Illinois, cement facility. We told you back in early May that they planned to increase their workforce. Click here to see why. There are multiple openings for storeroom attendant, quarry technician, maintenance mechanic, production assistant, quality assurance technician, and electrical technician.

If there’s a job opening you’d like us to let others know about, email me at jhorbelt@wpsdlocal6.com.
