Kentucky Department of Parks holding two separate events this weekend

The Kentucky Department of Parks has two events going on at two different parks this weekend.

On Saturday, May 23rd, Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park will be opening its beach to the public for the swim season by hosting a party.

Beach Blast will begin at 10:00 a.m. and include activities such as a sidewalk chalk art competition, dance party on the beach, volleyball tournament, and making tie-dye t-shirts.

Food will also be available for purchase starting at 11:00 a.m. The event goes until 6:00 p.m.

Pennyrile’s beach will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. beginning May 23 through September 7.

Meanwhile, at Kentucky Dam Village an Arts and Crafts Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd and 24th.

The show will feature handcrafted artwork, artist demonstrations, face painting, and food.

It will be at the park’s Old Beach area overlooking Kentucky late and be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
