Paducah teenager accused of attacking another teenager with a knife

A teenager was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly attacking another teenager with a knife.

The Paducah Police Department says around 12:30 a.m. Friday they were called to the 500 block of Farwood Drive on reports of a disturbance with a knife.

When the officer arrived he found 19-year-old Janai Orr bleeding from injuries to her face.

Orr told the officer that she had been assaulted by 18-year-old Alissa Jones.

Jones admitted to police to cutting the other girl with a knife and throwing it into the woods. Police later found the knife.

Jones is charged with second degree assault and tampering with physical evidence for throwing the knife away . She is in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Both teenagers were treated at a local hospital for their injuries
