Two women injured in head-on collision with SUV, tractor-trailer

Two women were injured when an SUV hit a tractor-trailer head on near Hazel on Thursday afternoon, according to the Kentucky State Police.

KSP says 37-year-old Bridgett D. Martin, of Hazel, was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango north on U.S. 641 when the SUV went into the southbound lane and hit a tractor trailer head on.

The tractor-trailer, driven by 59-year-old Mitchell W. Green, of Paris, Tennessee, was pulling an empty box trailer south on the highway. A passenger, 67-year-old Emma L. Green, also of Paris, was in the truck’s sleeper berth when the collision happened.

Martin was taken by ambulance to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital emergency room, and later to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. KSP says she was wearing a seatbelt when the wreck happened.

Emma Green was also taken by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Mitchell Green was wearing his seatbelt, and did not sustain any injuries.
