Doctors to perform more tests on Zack Pittman

Zack Pittman’s mom tells Local 6’s Robert Bradfield doctors removed his feeding tubes because he wasn’t digesting any of his food.

Laurie Dowell-Pittman says doctors will also run more tests on Zack to see how he is responding after being taken off his coma medicine this weekend.  She says he is still using a ventilator and isn’t able to breathe on his own.

Zack was put in a medically induced coma last week after having a portion of his skull removed to reduce brain swelling.

He was hit by a car last Tuesday after school.  The driver who hit him won’t face charges because police believe speed was not a factor.
