Louisville park hosting Great American Campout event

A Louisville park is hosting a night of camping in June as part of a national celebration.

The event at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park will be Saturday, June 20.

The annual Great American Campout event encourages people of all ages to camp in their backyards, neighborhoods, parks and campgrounds, as a way to reconnect with nature. The park will set up a camping area in the picnic grove area.

There will also be help with basic campsite set-up and learning about the Leave No Trace ethics from the park’s naturalist. The park is also offering archery, guided hikes, swimming and even stargazing.

The fee is $25 per family of four, and $5 for each additional family member.
