Date set for Paducah Regatta

The 2015 Paducah Regatta will be held June 13 at the Noble Park Pool, the city announced today. The race, hosted by the Paducah Parks Department, is open to all ages.

In the race, teams and individuals use cardboard and duct tape to make boats they attempt to race the width of the pool without sinking. Among the boats that do sink, the crew that makes the most dramatic spectacle wins the Titanic Award.

All boat-building supplies are provided, but participants can supply their own cardboard. More information can be found at the city’s website. To see the contest rules and awards, click here

Participation is $20 per boat. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the race will begin at 10 a.m.
