Marion man dies after being hit by vehicle

A Marion, Illinois, man died Monday night after he was hit by a vehicle, according to Williamson County Coroner Michael “Junior” Burke.

In a news release sent Tuesday, Burke said 51-year-old Terry Collins was pronounced dead from his injuries at 11:45 p.m. on Monday at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

The incident happened around 10:18 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lane of Route 13 at 1702 West DeYoung Street in Marion.

The wreck is under investigation by Burke and the Marion Police Department.
