Local man charged with sexual abuse

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested a Ledbetter man on child sexual assault charges.

Deputies arrested 71-year-old Ronald S. Wentworth around 9 p.m. Wednesday, stemming from an investigation conducted by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy David King.

The sheriff’s department alleges Wentworth subjected two juveniles — one younger than 12 at the time of the alleged offence and the other younger than 14 — to inappropriate sexual contact in Livingston County.

According to the sheriff’s department, the incidents happened about five years ago and went unreported at the time.

Wentworth was charged with two counts of first degree sexual abuse and jailed in the McCracken County Jail.
