Man involved in Marshall County motorcycle crash dies

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars says the man who was injured in the motorcycle crash has died.

Deputies were called to the intersection of US 68 West and Shawn Drive in Lauren Estates Thursday afternoon. Melody Pool, 62, of Barlow, Kentucky was traveling east on US 68 West and had slowed down to turn into Shawn Drive and turned left in to the path of a motorcycle driven by Wayne Deboe, 61, of Paducah.

Deboe was traveling westbound on US 68 and tried to stop but could not. Deboe struck the vehicle in the right rear door, ejecting him from the motorcycle.

Deboe was taken to Lourdes and later to Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Nashville.  Byars says he was taken off life support Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say Deboe had injuries to the head and neck area and was not wearing a helmet.

Pool was not injured.  Sheriff Byars says since the crash resulted in a death, the case will be brought to a grand jury sometime in July.
