Wreck blocks traffic on I-24

UPDATE: The site is cleared and open to traffic.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a two-vehicle wreck blocking the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Marshall County has been reported.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd said the wreck is between the 19 and 20 mile markers. He advises drivers detour via Exit 16 to U.S. 68 West, then east on U.S. 62 to Calvert City.

Todd says the Marshall County sheriff plans to do a crash reconstruction investigation at the site and KYTC personnel are en route to assist with a detour.

Estimated duration is two hours, as of 5:38 p.m., June 9.
