2 Mayfield residents face prescription forgery charges in Paducah

A man and woman from Mayfield were arrested on prescription forgery charges Monday morning, according to the Paducah Police Department.

A local pharmacy contacted Paducah Police Detective John Tolliver in late April about a prescription that appeared to be altered. A pharmacist told him the drug strength looked like it had been written over to increase it from 5 milligrams to 7 milligrams. Police say the pharmacist verified with the doctor who issued the prescription that it was altered.

A McCracken County grand jury indicted the man — 65-year-old Bobby Fox — and the woman — 55-year-old Sandra May —  and they were each arrested on a charge of forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance on the first offense.

The two were arrested around 10:30 a.m. Monday and jailed in McCracken County Regional Jail.
