Animal behind early morning power outage

Between 1,600 – 1,700 Jackson Purchase Energy customers lost their power Monday morning due to an animal.

The company says power was lost around 6:00 a.m. when an animal got into a substation.

The power outage impacted customers in the Reidland and Possum Trot area.

Power was restored around 6:45 a.m.
