Local Fourth of July fireworks displays

City and towns across the Local 6 area are starting to announce their 4th of July celebrations. We will be adding more events as they are reported to us. To submit a 4th of July event, email newstip@wpsdlocal6.com.

Kentucky:

Paducah – The city's Independence Day Celebration starts at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, with activities all evening before the fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. The celebration will take place in downtown Paducah on Water and Broadway Streets, and below the floodwall on the riverfront. The event is free to attend.

Gilbertsville – A free fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 4th, at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. The fireworks will be held from the breakwall and will start after a free concert ends. The concert starts at 7:00 p.m.

Cadiz – A free fireworks show will be held at Lake Barkley State Resort Park on Friday, July 3rd, at the beach.

Murray – The Briggs and Stratton Fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 4th, starting at 9:30 p.m. They are a part of Freedom Fest which runs July 3rd – 4th. For a full schedule of the festival, click here.

Fancy Farm – St. Jerome Church will have its annual fireworks show on Sunday, July 5th, at 9:00 p.m.

Providence – The city will start celebrating the holiday at 4:00 pm. on Saturday, July 4th. The event will include vendors, live bands, and inflatables. Fireworks will begin around dusk.

Fulton – Fireworks will begin at dusk at Pontotoc Park on Saturday, July 4th. A baseball game will also be held at Lohaus Field between the Fulton Railroaders and Owenboro Oilers. The first 300 guests get into the game for free. The game starts at 5:15 p.m.

Fort Knox – The celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Brooks Parade Field on Saturday, July 4th. Fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m. People attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Mayfield – Glory Days will be held on Saturday, July 4th in downtown Mayfield. Fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m. at the Mayfield High School track.

Salem – The Salem Baptist Church will host a free BBQ Fest on Sunday, July 5th. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and will end around 9:00 p.m. Fireworks will be part of the event.

Salem – Faith Church is offering home made ice cream on Friday, July 3rd at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawnchairs.

Calvert City – The AmeriBration Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 4th. The celebration starts at 8:00 a.m. with a parade down 5th Avenue at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk

Sugar Creek Bay Marina in Murray – Fireworks will begin at dusk on Saturday, July 4th.


Illinois:

Carbondale – The city's fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 4th, and start at 9:00 p.m. in the Carbondale SuperBlock behind University Mall. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawnchairs. Bleacher seating will also be available.

Bush – The village will have its fireworks display on Friday, July 3rd, starting at dusk. It will be at the park in the village.

Rend Lake Dam, Benton – Fireworks will be a part of the Bluegill Music Festival which is held on Saturday, July 4th. The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. For more information on the festival, click here.

Herrin – Fireworks will be held at Herrin Park on Saturday, July 4th.

Goreville – Freedom Fest will run all day on Saturday, July 4th. Fireworks will be held that evening near the concert stage.

Metropolis – Metropolis' Hometown Celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Harrah's casino on Friday, July 3rd. Fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Elizabethtown – The Hardin County Heritage Festival will be held on Friday, July 3rd. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
 


Tennessee:

Reelfoot Lake, Tiptonville – Fireworks will begin at dusk on Friday, July 3rd. They will be held in the American Legion area.

Cottage Grove – A Freedom Festival will be held on Saturday, July 4th. The event includes a parade and live music. The fireworks will start at 9:00 p.m. More information is on their Facebook page.
