City news conference on downtown hotel

The city of Paducah hosted a news conference 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday from City Hall on the possibility of construction of a hotel downtown.

City spokeswoman Pam Spencer said developers planning to build a hotel in downtown Paducah would be introduced at the conference and details of a development agreement would be provided.

The hotel is planed for a site next to the Julian Carroll Convention Center. The conference was streamed live by Local 6 at this web page.

In an announcement made earlier Tuesday, Spencer said the hotel will be a 123-room, branded, upscale hotel with a restaurant. It is to be constructed on the 1.4-acre site at 600 North 4th Street, where the dome pavilion was housed.

We’ll have more on this story on Local 6 at Six and online from reporter Blake Stevens.
