Missouri man charged with assaulting teen

A Missouri man faces an assault charge after he was arrested over the weekend, according to the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department.

The Bertrand, Missouri, man, 48-year-old Charles Lewis Aycock, is accused of assaulting a teenager on Saturday because, the sheriff’s department says, the teen was standing in Aycock’s yard.

The sheriff’s department says the teen left before deputies and police arrived at the scene to seek treatment for a broken jaw, and a deputy confirmed with family members that the boy was at a local hospital.

Aycock was arrested and jailed at the Mississippi County Detention Center and charged with second degree assault. He was released Sunday on a $25,000 surety bond.
