Cox family speaks on son’s death

The parents of a man fatally shot earlier this month during an incident at a Reidland storage unit facility spoke Thursday on the loss of their son.

Thirty-year-old Garlon Casey Cox, of Benton, died of a gunshot wound on June 8. Ronnie and Barbara Cox spoke with Local 6 outside the McCracken County courthouse, and said they don’t understand why the man accused of shooting their son didn’t just write down the license plate number of the truck he was in and call 911.

The full interview can be viewed above.

The man accused of killing Cox, Jeffrey Conrad, has said Cox was breaking into his storage unit. Conrad pleaded not guilty on Thursday when he appeared in McCracken County court to answer the charge of murder.
