Man facing capital murder charge pleas not guilty

The man accused of shooting and killing a person he says was breaking into his storage unit pleaded not guilty on Thursday.

Jeffrey Conrad appeared in McCracken County court to answer charges of murder.

Conrad says he shot Garlon Casey Cox to protect a friend who was helping him move.

A pretrial date is set for August 31.
