Second man arrested in Missouri murder
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety said Wednesday that a second suspect in the June 6 murder of a local man has been arrested.
Officers responded to a call that two people had been shot at Lee and Welter Streets in Sikeston, Missouri, around 11:10 p.m. on June 6. When officers arrived, police say, they found Tyrussell Davis shot to death in a vehicle and another person shot and bleeding in a nearby field.
The initial investigation led police to the St. Louis area, where they arrested Tyler Triplett, who was later charged with murder.
A St. Louis man, 22-year-old Kelvin Knight, was also charged with the murder. After three weeks of searching, Sikeston DPS learned that Knight was arrested Wednesday in the St. Louis area by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.
Sikeston police said Knight remains in custody there and is awaiting arraignment.
