Lightning Causes Fire

Firefighters with the Hendron Fire Department battled heavy smoke and flames early Thursday morning at a home on Lackey Street. Firefighters say the home is abandon and they are not sure who owns the home at this time.

Firefighters say lightning is likely to blame. At this time, they will not call the State Fire Marshal to investigate further.

No one was injured.
