Rolling road blocks planed for I-24 Friday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says one lane traffic with rolling road blocks is planed along Interstate 24 through four west Kentucky counties on Friday.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says an engineering survey caravan will set up briefly at multiple locations along I-24 in Lyon, Caldwell, Trigg, and Christian counties.

The locations are between the 45 and 75 mile markers. The team will check and mark deteriorated areas of concrete in need of repair.

The lane restrictions with rolling road blocks will be for eastbound and westbound traffic at various times between about 8 a.m. and about 1 p.m. Friday, Todd said. Police and KYTC traffic control personnel will slow approaching vehicles and move all traffic to the left hand lane as the moving caravan progresses.

Todd said once the survey and pavement marking work is completed, a contractor will be in the area in coming weeks to start repair work.
