Woman facing animal hoarding charges appears in court

A Williamson County woman accused of animal hoarding made her first appearance in court on Monday.

Former veterinarian Elisa Kirkpatrick is facing nine misdemeanors and one felony count stemming from a May 26 raid on her home.

Deputies say they found 62 animals in her home.

Her veterinary license was suspended in December, but police say she was operating on animals.

Kirkpatrick did not enter a plea.

She will appear in court on August 3 for a status hearing.
