Barge rubs up against Eggners Ferry Bridge pier

A tug pushing 15 barges rubbed up against a pier on the Eggners Ferry Bridge overnight.

Some of the forms for a pier on the new bridge were also hit.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the incident happened at 11:00 p.m.

The damage to both is thought to be minor and traffic is being allowed across the bridge.

A bridge inspector has been called to check on the damage.
