Teen accused of shooting Mounds, IL police office could be charged as adult

A 16-year-old accused of shooting a police officer in Mounds, Illinois could be charged as an adult with attempted murder and aggravated battery.

The teen is accused of shooting and injuring Officer Lyle Womack on July 8 during an attempted burglary.

A hearing to request the case be transferred to adult criminal court is set for Friday at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
