Woman killed in two-vehicle wreck

The Illinois State Police says a two-vehicle wreck that happened on U.S. 51 in Union County Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death of an Anna, Illinois, woman.

A Toyota Camry driven by 60-year-old Kevin Purcell of Cobden, Illinois was entering U.S. 51 from Bell Hill Road when, ISP says, Purcell failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming SUV.

The GMC Jimmy was headed north on U.S. 51. when the car struck its rear and caused it to overturn. ISP says the SUV's driver, 21-year-old Lauren Holhouser, who was unrestrained, was partially ejected from the vehicle. Holhouser was pronounced dead at the scene. 

ISP says Purcell was charged with failure to yield right of way, and the investigation continues.
