Head-on crash kills one, seriously injures another

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office is investigating a head-on crash that killed one and severely injured another.

The crash happened in the 3400 block of State Route 121 South just before 12:30 a.m.

Deputies say a vehicle cross over the center line and hit another vehicle head on.

The drivers in the crash had to be extricated from their vehicles.

Cindy Vandeventer of Murray was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Amber Hestand of Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office is working with Kentucky State Police on investigating the crash.
