Body of Skyleigh Pool found at pond near Ballard County home

Search crews found the body of a 8-year-old girl about 18 hours after she went missing.

Skyleigh Pool's body was found Thursday morning at a pond near her home off of County Farm Road in Ballard County, Kentucky.

Skyleigh's mom, Cassandra Gibbs, says Skyleigh and her six siblings were playing in the house around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday when she noticed Skyleigh and her brothers walk out the back door.

Cassandra says within a matter of minutes, she noticed Skyleigh was missing.

Several agencies and hundreds of volunteers responded to help with the search on foot, by horseback, and by air.

An autopsy will be performed Friday. No foul play is suspected.
