Help Wanted: From 9 to 5, to 24 hour workdays
Technology could be turning your 9 to 5 job into a 24-hour workday.
A new CareerBuilder survey finds two in five workers keep working outside of traditional office hours. One in four check on work during activities with family and friends.
What may be more surprising: 63 percent believe working 9 to 5 is an outdated concept.

The Kentucky Career Center has several job openings to let you know about:
1.) Shipping Clerk/Packing – Wickliffe, KY (KY0610880): This position is full time, Monday through Friday. You'll be responsible for labeling containers, moving materials by hand, assembling product containers, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, and following all safety rules and regulations. This program is willing to train. You need a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass a drug screen. The pay starts at $11 per hour.
2.) Administrative Assistant – Hickory, KY (KY0610957): This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. You'll be responsible for several duties, including: answering telephones/taking customer orders, scheduling production or working with production scheduler to make sure goods are produced for timely shipments, creating sales orders, sending load approvals to Michigan, creating Bill of Lading, coordinating freight for inbound and outbound shipments, preparing purchase order (at the time of order) for every inventory item purchased. You need a high school diploma or GED, two years experience and a Class D driver's license.
3.) Storeroom Attendant – Metropolis, IL: This is a full-time position. Your responsibilities would include storeroom cleaning and upkeep, sweeping, dusting, debris removal from packing and shipping materials, and operation of basic hand tools (Dewalt electric drills, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.).The pay is $15 per hour.
4.) Carpenter – Paducah, KY (KY0609706): This full-time position is Monday through Friday. You'll be responsible for shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw, following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment, measuring and marking cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge, installing structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools. You need at least five years experience and a Class D driver's license.
5.) Apartment Maintenance – Paducah, KY (KY0610970): A full- and part-time position is available for a 92 multifamily property. You need experience in basic electric, plumbing, drywall repair (walls/ceilings), painting, hanging doors, windows, also ground work, minor roof repair, gas ranges, refrigerators and heating and air. Rate of pay will be based on experience. The company will run a criminal background check.
The Kentucky Career Center will also host a Job Fair for Lynx Services on Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 416 S. 6th Street in Paducah.
