Road work on Eggners Ferry Bridge to start Sunday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a contractor plans to continue concrete pours on the U.S. 68, Kentucky 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge on a nearly daily basis over several weeks starting Sunday.

Beginning around 6 p.m. Sunday, traffic will be restricted for an extended concrete pour on the bridge's pier 5 footer. The road work will require a lane restriction expected to stay in place until around 12 p.m. on Monday.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says similar lane restrictions will be required on the existing bridge on Tuesday and Wednesday so more concrete can be delivered to the site for the new structure. Work zone hours may change a bit because of weather, temperatures, and other requirements.

Todd says delays are possible, and asks that drivers use caution around the busy work zone.
