Tennessee man wanted in Murray death

The Murray Police Department says a Tennessee man is wanted on charges relating to the death of a man at Live Oak Apartments on Broad Street in Murray. 

Police say the body of a 61-year-old man was found in an apartment when officers responded to a missing persons complaint that was made Monday morning.

The police department has issued a warrant charging tampering with physical evidence for 28-year-old Jonathan Backer of Puryear, Tennessee. Police say Backer has been driving a white 1997 Ford Crown Victoria with Tennessee Handicapped License Plate # 012DD65.

The Murray Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Calloway County Coroner’s Office, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police.
