Local school district in need of bus drivers

The McCracken County School District is looking for school bus drivers.

Teresa Bottoms, the district's transportation director, says they have about 6 open positions that pay anywhere from $13 to $17 an hour with full time benefits.

Bottoms says there is a nationwide shortage of school bus drivers due to training, time, and responsibility.

If you're thinking about applying, she says it's a good job that links you with new people.

"You get to interact with not just a certain group of students, like a teacher at a certain grade level, I mean you get them from pre-school all the way up to graduation," said Bottoms.
