I-24 Ohio River Bridge westbound blocked by wreck
UPDATE 7 p.m.: KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says westbound traffic is moving across the I-24 Ohio River Bridge around the crash site in the bridge work zone. But traffic is moving slow.
Todd says KYTC highly recommends self-detouring via the Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge if your vehicle doesn’t surpass the 8 feet vehicle width limit, which prohibits most commercial trucks.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound side of the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis is blocking westbound lanes.
KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says emergency response personnel are en route to the wreck site.
Todd said passenger vehicles (not semis) may self-detour via the U.S. 45 Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge. The bridge is restricted to vehicles no more than 8 feet, wide which prohibits most commercial trucks.
