Four injured in single-vehicle wreck

Four people were injured in a one-car wreck in Trigg County Tuesday, according to Kentucky State Police.

A 2004 Kia Amanti was headed southbound on Maple Grove Road around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday. The car was driven by 22-year-old Derrick Bacon of Cadiz. KSP says the vehicle entered a ditch and traveled more than 200 feet before re-entering and crossing the road and hitting an embankment on the east side of the roadway.

The car rolled multiple times, ejecting Bacon before coming to a stop in a field at 1805 Maple Grove Road. Bacon and three passengers were injured in the wreck. All the passengers — 23-year-old Earl Q. Byers of Hopkinsville, 21-year-old James C. Bacon Jr., and 19-year-old Donald C Bacon Jr. — were able to get out of the car under their own power, according to KSP.

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Michael Robichaud. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Cadiz Police Department, the Trigg County Rescue Squad, the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Trigg County EMS, and Air Evac.
