This year’s Barbecue on the River to have something new

In just a few weeks you will be able to smell the sweet scent of barbecue coming from the Paducah riverfront.

It’s an event that includes 90,000 pounds of meat and 40,000 people.

We are talking of course about Barbecue on the River.

Organizers briefed Local 6 on what to expect this year, including something new for people.

"We’re adding a second stage on Broadway. It’s going to be in-between 2nd Street and 3rd Street. We’re calling it the Broadway stage. It’s going to be a little lower key entertainment. There will be entertainment there on Thursday and Friday nights from I believe 6:00 p.m. til about 10:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, it’ll be a full blown Farmer’s Market Fall Festival with entertainment all day long," said David Boggs with Barbecue on the River.

The 21st ever Barbecue on the River starts Wednesday, September 23 with Prokstock and runs through Saturday, September 26.
