Traffic safety checks to be held in Williamson County

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department has announced a traffic safety campaign will take place over the next several weeks.

The sheriff’s department said roadside safety checks will be scheduled during daytime and nighttime hours "in order to encourage safe driving through the Labor Day holiday and the entire month of September."

The roadside safety checks will be held at several different locations within Williamson County, but the sheriff’s department didn’t disclose the specific locations. The department noted that drivers under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be arrested, and deputies will also focus on seat belt usage and uninsured motorists.

Multiple DUI saturation patrols will also be scheduled through the next few weeks.
