Sheriff: Grandson witnessed murder of grandfather in Henry County, TN

Update: A 65-year-old man is dead after being shot in the head, according to the Henry County, TN Sheriff’s Department.

It happened on the 13800 block of Hwy 79 North Buchanan, TN around 7:30 Friday night.

Sheriff’s deputies say Jacky Ford and his 11-year-old grandson were playing cards in Ford’s home when a man wearing a ski mask approached them. The man called Ford by name and he turned around. That’s when the suspect fired two shots, hitting and killing Ford.

Ford’s grandson witnessed the shooting and described the suspect as a white man about 6 feet tall wearing a sleeveless gray shirt and a blue ski mask.

The department is also offering a $1000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the case.
