Funeral arrangements set for Fulton teen who died in Purchase Parkway wreck

UPDATE: Funeral arrangements for Hastings are set.  His visitation is Monday, August 31, from 5-8pm at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. His funeral is Tuesday, September 1, at 2pm at First Baptist Church also in Fulton.

On its Facebook page, the school says, "Fulton Independent School District extends its deepest sympathies to the family of Matthew Hastings, a 2014 graduate of Fulton City High School. Fulton City High School will open its building from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. today (Saturday, August 29) for students and friends to be able to gather and mourn together, comfort one another, and pray for the family."

A Fulton, Kentucky teen was killed overnight in a wreck on the Purchase Parkway.

Fulton Police responded to the Exit 0 area of the parkway for a report of an overturned car at around 3:00 this morning.

That’s when they found 19-year-old Matthew Hastings.

Investigators say Hastings drove into the median and hit a guard rail which caused the car to flip, ejecting Hastings.

An investigation is ongoing.
