Deputies looking for man involved in shooting, standoff Saturday
On Saturday McCracken County deputies were called to the 200 block of Highland Church Road in reference to a shooting.
An 8 year-old told deputies he and his brother had been shot at. They identified the man as Jeffrey Collier. The children said Collier arrived at a nearby home demanding to know if his estranged girlfriend was there. He told an adult female that he would shoot her and her children if he found that they were hiding his girlfriend from him. The 8 year-old and his brother were not hurt.
Deputies say Collier then pulled out a semi automatic handgun and fired at least five shots. He left driving a maroon 1994 Chevrolet Blazer.
Deputies say Collier drove back to his home on North 10th Street in Paducah. Deputies and Paducah Police officers spent hours trying to get Collier to come out of his house. On Sunday, a search warrant was issued, but Collier was not inside the home.
Investigators found a semi automatic handgun as well as his Chevrolet SUV. At least one shell casing was also found in his vehicle.
Deputies say Collier has an extensive criminal record including convictions for:
