Crash at intersection of US 45 and State Route 1241 kills one, injures six others

One person was killed and six others were injured when two cars collided at the intersection of US 45 North and State Route 1241 in McCracken County.

Kentucky State Police say on Sunday around 3:00 p.m. a car traveling west on State Route 1241 failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of US 45 North and hit the passenger side of a car.

The force of the crash pushed the cars 60 feet across the intersection into a guardrail.

69-year-old Ronald Peterson of Ledbetter was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was the driver of the car that failed to yield.

The driver of the other car, 33-year-old Victor Ramirez, and five passengers were taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the crash.
