All lanes back open on US 641 in Lyon County after crews remove overturned semi

UPDATE: The semi has been removed and all lanes are back open.


ORIGINAL STORY: An overturned semi is blocking both lanes of US 641 in Lyon County between Eddyville and Fredonia.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the crash is near the entrance to the West Kentucky Correctional Center.

The truck is loaded with metal and may have to be unloaded before it can be removed.

There are a few detour options.

Those trying to get between Eddyville and Marion, Kentucky should use KY 295 and KY 70 through Dycusburg.

Drivers can also use I-69 to Princeton and take KY 91 to return to US 641 at Fredonia.

Cleanup is expected to take 3 to 4 hours.
