Suspect in shootout arrested, police still looking for second suspect
A Sikeston man wanted for allegedly participating in a shootout was arrested Friday afternoon.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety says on July 30th a shootout occurred on John R. Boulevard.
Police have been looking for the two men since the shootout.
On Friday, officers received information that Sheron was leaving his mother’s home on Cambridge street in a car.
Officers found the car and stopped it.
Sheron was a passenger and attempted to run away on foot, but was captured.
He was arrested on felony warrants and a misdemeanor warrant through the city for failure to appear on a marijuana possession offense.
The driver of the car, 28-year-old Brandon Johnson of Sikeston, was arrested for hindering prosecution in reference to Sheron’s arrest warrant.
Johnson was taken to the Scott County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
Police are still looking for Dewayne Harris Junior.
