Kentucky Division of Forestry taking tree seedling orders
If you are thinking of planting trees in the spring, you’ll want to put in your order for tree seedlings now.
The Kentucky Division of Forestry says it is taking orders for tree seedlings.
There are more than 50 species of trees to chose from. That includes the new additions of staghorn, smooth sumac, sugar maple, and tag alder also known as hazel alder.
The seedlings can be used for reforestation, wildlife habitat development, erosion control, windbreakers, and other conservation projects.
Single trees are $5 each, a bundle of 10 trees is $30, and a bundle of 100 trees is $50.
The seedlings will be available from January through April.
Foresters with the Kentucky Division of Forestry will be able to help find the right trees for your situation.
