Woman receives head injuries after fall at Garden of the Gods

A Louisiana woman fell about 15 feet Saturday at the Garden of the Gods.

Saline County Sheriff Keith Brown says 23 year-old Linda Cross, of Baton Rouge, fell around 1:15 Saturday afternoon.  She was air lifted to an Evansville, Indiana hospital with head injuries.

Her condition is unknown as of Sunday afternoon.  For those visiting Garden of the Gods, Sheriff Brown says, "As the leaves begin to change color, more and more visitors come out to the park.  Visitors should wear good footwear and appropriate clothing, while hiking in and along the trails.  The trails and rocks can become very slippery from falling leaves or even damp conditions."
