Blood drive being held for injured firefighter

A blood drive will be held in Shawneetown, Illinois on Tuesday for a firefighter that was injured.

Shawneetown Fire Department Chief Terry Golden says on July 26, Tim Drone was seriously injured in a tractor accident.

Drone was taken to Evansville, Indiana and was in the ICU for several weeks.

He is now back home and going through therapy.

During his stay, Drone went through several units of blood.

The blood drive is hoping to help replace the units of blood that were used to save Drone’s life.

It will be held on September 8 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Shawneetown, which is located at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Logan Avenue.
