Two injured in weekend shooting in Charleston, Missouri

Police are investigating multiple shootings that happened over the weekend in Charleston.

The Charleston Department of Public Safety says officers were called to a shooting in the area of Tenth and Helena Streets around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Officers found two people who had been shot. The victims, ages 17 and 23, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Both are from Charleston and their injuries are not life threatening. 

Police say neither of the victims are cooperating at this time.

A half hour later, police responded to a second call of shots fired. This time it was at the intersection of Gail and Walhausen Streets. Officers found two vehicles hit by stray bullets. 

No victims have come forth from the second shooting and no witnesses have been located.
