Crash blocks U.S. 68 in Trigg County

UPDATE 8:35 p.m.: Keith Todd says the site is cleared and all lanes are open.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a two vehicle wreck has been reported on U.S. 68 around the 22 mile marker in Trigg County. All lanes are blocked.

The four-lane section of road where the wreck happened is between Cadiz and Interstate 24, according to KYTC spokesman Keith Todd. He says KYTC workers are helping police with traffic control.

A detour has been established via the Kentucky 3468 Frontage Road (Old U.S. 68) that parallels U.S. 68 in that area, near the Southern States Co-op and Farm Bureau Facilities.

Todd says drivers should expect delays, because four lanes of traffic have been compressed to two lanes for the detour. He says drivers should avoid the area altogether if they can.

The estimated duration is three hours.
